Philosophy statement

Design is creating something new that may change our impression, lives, and even what we think. I believe with good design, it can change our daily lives. With good design, it takes the audience to look into every single detail of it. With good design, it takes my breath away. Although some people think inspiration comes from nature, I believe everything that is around us can be great sources of inspiration. What you look at, what you hear people say can all be something that just clicks. Being a designer for Interior Design has always been what I wanted to do. I love looking at residential home designs and think about what I would do to make it more comfortable.

This is a poster design project that enable us to gain skills to generate the ability to connect the thoughts of the design, to develop the general sense of putting the inspired images into use and create a final textile project. The project starts with finding the inspired images, Photoshop edit these original images into a creative style. Joining all these images into a beautiful pattern with the help of designing and sketching several thumbnails as one of an important processes. Having the 2D pattern image plotted helps to generate the final textile, which is inspired by one of most unique symbolism - the elephant. Elephant is used as one of the central theme in the textile with other unique Indian features, such as the Indian carpet, which is the border of the textile, as well as the border of the central image. There are a number of key processes involved, starting with the inspired images. These inspired images include the Indian carpet, dagger, paintings, and decorative arts. Several thumbnail sketches are done to generate the best pattern that can best represent the art of India.
